The client bought Bitcoin from okcoin in 2014 and transferred it to a multibit wallet, recording the password. In 2017, when he wanted to sell it, he found that the password was incorrect, but he believed the password should be right and that the wallet had a problem.
On April 30, after we received the wallet file, password hints, and his commonly used passwords, we began analyzing the wallet file overnight. After multiple attempts, we found that the recorded password was likely incorrect, so we started password recovery. Because multibit’s encryption is strong and the computing speed is low, we set this project as the highest priority and allocated all computing power for the task. During the process, we tried dozens of password variation patterns, and after about two hours, the recovery was successful.
